Each year San Antonio and SportsTours, Inc. host womens college lacrosse teams during Spring Break holidays. Some of the nations best talent travels to San Antonio to enjoy the weather and hone their skills for the coming season.
This year SportsTours and the coaches from Hamilton College and Bowdoin College have agreed to offer a free players clinic. The clinic will be on March 16 from 11 am to 1 30 pm. Players should bring stick, mouthpiece, goggles, and water.
Coach Patty Kloidt led Hamilton to the DIII National Championship in 2008 and they went to the Final Four again last year losing to eventual National Champion Franklin and Marshall in the semifinals. Bowdoin, led by coach Liz Grote, is a perennial power in DIII womens lacrosse and participates in the preeminent lacrosse conference in the country, the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
Following the clinic, at 3 pm, there will be a featured game between Stevens Institute of Technology and Oswego State. Stevens is a consistent NCAA tourney team and Oswego is an up and coming team from the New York University system conference.
There is no charge for the clinic or the game. Clinic and game will held on the Trinity University campus in San Antonio.
